Coenzyme q10 and letrozole versus letrozole alone for ovulation induction in polycystic ovary syndrome

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the largest single cause of anovulatory infertility. PCOS associated with oxidative stress. Coenzyme q10 (Coq10) an antioxidant that protects mitochondria from damage caused by either insulin resistance or free radicals. The objective study was to compare effect combined Coq10 and letrozole than alone for ovulation induction in women PCOS.Methods: This open label parallel design randomized controlled trial conducted on 80 infertile selected induction. Eligible were (40 patients, 83 cycles) (38 91 cycles). outcome measures mature follicles, adequate endometrial thickness, pregnancy.Results: Mature follicles (≥18-25 mm) significantly higher given at 2nd (74.2% vs 31.3%) 3rd cycles (83.3% 28.6%). Cumulative pregnancy 2.37 times (95% CI 1.03-5.48) having addition Conclusions: Coq10, as adjuvant improves ovarian response, women.
